Mediacaster

A web-based MPEG-TS multicast playout platform designed for IPTV channel origination in live venue environments. Built by an engineer who deploys these systems, for the operators who run them.

Mediacaster addresses a gap in venue IPTV tooling: the need for a lightweight, web-accessible platform to originate and manage custom multicast channels without expensive proprietary encoding appliances. Operator-friendly, network-native, and built on enterprise Linux.

Capabilities

What Mediacaster does.

MPEG-TS Multicast Playout

Browser-based channel origination and playout directly to IP multicast groups. Purpose-built for IPTV headend environments where operational simplicity matters.

Browser Source Streaming

Containerized browser rendering engine (Podman/Firefox) enables live web content — dashboards, data feeds, signage — as IPTV channel sources without dedicated encoding hardware.

AES67 / Dante Audio Bridging

Native MPEG-TS audio extraction and bridging to AES67/Dante audio networks, eliminating dedicated decoder hardware from the IPTV audio distribution signal chain.

Keycloak OIDC SSO

Enterprise single sign-on integration via Keycloak and OpenID Connect, providing role-based access control aligned with venue operational workflows.

AlmaLinux Foundation

Built on AlmaLinux 10 for long-term enterprise stability. Designed for bare-metal or virtualized deployment in venue compute environments.

Open Source

Developed in the open on GitHub. Transparency in tooling builds trust with the operators and engineers who depend on it daily.
